Nokia 6110

Is there a way to connect the Nokia 6110 to the internet without using a service provider (i.e., GPRS/EDGE, WAP connection). I wanted to license some maps from Smart2Go. Thanks.

Re: Nokia 6110

Sorry Chubbypoulet,

I don't think its possible. :smileysad: To do so, your mobile would need to be WiFi capable, which 6110 is not.

However, I think you may be able to get new maps via a PC and then push it to the phone, via Map PC management.

Anyone can confirm this?

Cheers.

Thanks for the reply. Yup, you can download as much maps as you need to use for free via Nokia Map Loader. I guess I need to call up my cellphone service provider to activate my internet settings so I can purchase licenses for the maps that I downloaded from Nokia.

Cheers!

Would anybody out there be able to help me set up my Nokia 6110 to access the internet using a FIDO connection. I phoned up my cellphone provider (FIDO - Canada) and they don't support phones that they don't sell. It would be a great help if you tell me what to do so I can buy licenses for my downloaded maps. Thank you so much.
