My 5800 is a waste of time for sending messages, hangs for ages. I've searched forums for advice, found a sms accelerator to download, even downloaded it from the nokia website, an cannot install any of them. Followed every step and advice that people have given with no luck. Not very impressed at all with this phone, for the money it costs the features are poor and the performance is a joke.

I've no issues when it comes to speed of sending things, my issue with the 5800 is it's absolutely **bleep** performance, it fails to close apps properly, the camera processing speed is slow & quality poor.
I've responded to a Nokia SMS asking for peoples opinions, they say they're going to call me, well I don't think they're going to like what I say about the 5800, unless they can come up with a solution to all of the problems that I'm having, somehow I really don't believe that Nokia take Customer Opinions seriously or act on them, so in a few months time I'll be changing phones again.

I've had no performance issues with my 5800xm at all. It runs fast and smooth and has only crashed about three times in three months.
Quite often problems are caused by 3rd party apps, apps installed on the memory card or corrupt memory cards, which does seem to be quite common with the supplied 8GB cards.
As for SMS sending issues this could be caused by a corrupt card slowing the phone down or an older sim card. Switch the phone off, remove the memory card, switch on and see if it's improved. To test the sim try another persons sim in your phone or ask your network for a free replacement.
Also make sure you are running the latest firmware by checking www.nokia.com/softwareupdate

Snails can send SMS? ![]()
Psychomania is quite correct, a standard Nokia phone without any applications installed should run quite smoothly, especially when the firmware updates are at the mature stage (getting to v20 or v30)
If you found this or someone's comments helpful or like what that person has to say, please give some Kudos to their post!

its not the sim card its not the memory card, nokia have had problems with this going back before the n73 with people that text a massive amount. Instead of resolving the issue every phone since seems to have the same problem!! An when you download fixes you cant install them because of the ridiculous signature **bleep**!! I gotta say that this is the last nokia i will ever buy, they have gone way down in my estimation. For a company that have been around as long as they have, an they still havent got it right. Companies that have been round only a few years seem to have mastered the market an the care of their customers already. You cant even do simple things like copy and paste on the internet i mean why release a sposed'ly top of the range phone an give no features aswell as bad performance?

How do you define texting a massive amount?
I have a friend that sends over 4,000 a month and receives a similar amount and he does not have any problems with speed. It's still a similar speed to my 5800 that sends considerably less messages. Both are much faster than many older models, especially the N73.
You've made it clear from the tone of your posts that you don't actually want help from anyone here, you just want to rant. There are several other things you could try but to be honest it's doesn't appear to be worth the effort in posting them.

So why do nokia supply sms accelerator if their are no issues? An why can i not install this accelerator because like most other things i try to install it has a certificate error? I have even turned off the certification checking an still cannot install hardly any applications because of these errors?

They do not supply it because it wasn't needed in newer phones. The last models to get it were the original S60v3 phones like the N73. Eventually even the N73 didn't need it because the SMS accelerator code was incorporated into the firmware.
The SMS accelerator was never released for any of the S60v3FP1 models (like the N95) because they did not need it. The same applies for the newer S60v3FP2 and S60v5 models.
Your issue is being caused by something else,

I have run the phone without a memory card in an still have the issue, I have a new sim card from o2 so i presume that is their latest because it is only a few weeks old. I have done hard resets an also got the latest firmware, it was better with the new firmware but then went back to the same way afterwards?
