Hello
My phone(5800) crashed yesterday and has since been restarting and crashing again. Once it starts up I don't have time to get to the menu(or the dialler to type *#7270#) and the screen fades out, turns to white, the NOKIA logo comes up and same thing all over again.
I took my friends battery (he also has the same phone) and it did the same thing. That eliminates the option of being a battery malfunction. I also removed my mem card, same. Used another SIM, same.
I don't know what else to do. Any ideas?

Experienced kind of same problem. The phone freezes, and sometimes just shuts down. Perhaps the phone will work better if you reinstall the symbian software? Hope they will solve these problems with next update.

I have exactly the same problem. I can't even turn it on, and when it does, as stated in the earlier posts, it will remain on for only five seconds and reboot again.
Does anyone know a solution for this?
thanx

i had also same problem before.sometimes my phone was restarting 2-3 times after booting(when the home screen came)and i was unable to aceess menu.its irritated me so much coz i have no option to give my phone at customer care coz i was out of waranty.here is the soloution which i had applied succesfully in my case.
1.i formatted my memory card.
2.removed memory card and sim.
3.hard reset by pressing green+red+camera button then switch on the fon.
4.updated my firmware to latest.
now my phone is working perfectly without any problem.please try,all the best.

Hi there, another satisfied 5800 user ![]()
Just want to say, I have the same problem. The update to V31 does seem to reduce the number of non-stop reboots to a couple of times... then stabilizes down. So now, I rarely (fingers crossed) have the problem anymore.
I saw a post that suggested putting a picture instead of the default start-up screen. That I've tried and it works for me.
Like you, I've also formatted my memory disk (pain in the **bleep** as all the maps, files etc have to be redone up), hard reset and also updated.
Well, hope the changing of the default start-up works for you..
cheers
