I have just purchased the Nokia 5800 express music and have inserted the sim and battery. However, it says that my phone is offline whenever i switch it on. I am now trying to remove the battery to take the sim out to reapply it again to see if this solves the problem however, no matter what i do i cannot remove the battery. Any tips on how to remove the battery please?. Any tips would be a massive help. Thank-youx

Open back cover... top right next to the camera lens there is a small cut out to slip a fingernail or some other "point" to lift battery out... you havent put it in upside down have you? The battery on mine goes in with the white blurb writing on the back facing out

Thank-you, you're a star. That's nearly an hour i've wasted trying to open it!.I've put the sim in the right way but it keeps saying it's offline. is it supposed to do that? If not, any idea how i sort it?

Is it obvious i am a complete novice?!

Click the power button in on the top....dont hold it, just a quick click.. select GENERAL... does that help?

If not.. i bet the sim is in wrong / damaged / inactive

Remove back cover, take battery off and use stylus to remove sim.  Put the sim back in, gold chip facing the battery.. ie if your holding the phone screen down, then you can see the chip. LOOK AT THE DIAGRAM

Push it all the way in, i use the stylus. Close door, battery on, back on, power up
