I changed the log to anything other then 30 days and that fixed it immiedatly, and swapped it back to 30 days and it's fine, obviously a switch in the software needed to be flicked .....
This also fixed a problem that i have had since the last update where i was not receiving SMS messages unless i sent an SMS, when i sent an SMS the phone at that time would collect maybe an hours worth of messages in one block. This problem also fixed itself when I reset the missed calls log..... CHEERS

I've got this problem - only started recently - the phone is on v31.0.101 - tried changing the log settings to 10 days and still recent calls don't go in the log.
Not sure what else to try - someone on another thread suggested removing software, but not sure what to remove.

try to check the date and time first
if it's true, then backup your data ((choose all except settings and files from phone memory))
then soft reset your phone using *#7370# and try again

OK I've done the back up and soft reset. Recent calls works, but I lose all my settings installed apps etc. Performed a restore and all settings are back, but so to is the recent calls problem.
This seems to affect recent calls and message delivery reports.
Some installed software must be causing the problem, but what?

TRY THIS IT WORKED ON 3 staff phones...
