Have it for almost a week and faced some problems noticed till current moment.

Bugs.

1. Autocomplete doesn't work on S60 browser addressbar. You can only select first item from popup list.

2. Password fields won't let you enter non-latin symbols.

3. LED won't stop blinking even after incoming message was read. It will stop blinking after you unlock the phone once again.

Important lacks

1. XpressMusic player lacks of current queue feature. Be it not XpressMusic I would say nothing, but you can't view currently playing list and you can't add to current queue.

2. No kinetic scrolling in main menu. I have 50 icons in application menu and it's very problematic to scroll them as the display is sunk a bit. Even my small fingure miss the scrollbar at least 1/3 of attempts to scroll it.

3. S60 browser does not support IDNs. It's not so important at the moment, but Cyrillic TLD zone is expected to run in november this year.

Some noticed misses

1. No preentered local ccTLD in S60 browser autocomplete in localized firmware. Only com, net and org.If it's Russian language on the device then ru should be in list already, if it's German, then deshould be in list. Etc.

2. No preinstalled dictionaries in localised firmwares.

I have also noticed a bug on my 5530 when playing music and going back to the homescreen I don't get the music controls (backward, play/pause, forward).

Camera quality is good in daylight conditions but when pictures are taken indoors or at night they look really really bad, pixelated and they have a high noise level, seems like a 1 megapixel picture.

people just wait for a new firmware.....other people also have the same problems.......with every firmware update,your phone gets a lot faster.so just sit back and wait,people at nokia are working like hell towards this....

Do you think they will greatly improve camera quality through firmware updates? considering that it is an XpressMusic phone so they might mostly concentrate on music than camera.

I really want the camera quality to improve when it is improved this phone would be the best, sexiest, coolest phone ever!

yes firmware updates can certainly improve camera quality.......don't worry man........it will improve........

camera is good actually. white balance is enough balanced, details somehow (for a phone) preserved.

did you faced some problems with it?

can confirm the problem with player controls on desktop. won't appear sometimes.

we are waiting of course. but we just about to be sure nokia knows about specific bugs/lacks. just reporting about them.

2 more problems.

1. Application Menu laggs a lot.

2. Vkontakte widget is very low functional - just link with information on amount of new items on every link. When you click on the wall it will open the browser with you main profile page, when you click on friends it will open browser with frinds page. Do everything within the widget. And remove exit button from main soft buttons, as you have to click in the same place to close the browser to get back to the widget.

Hy to all. I was very happy to find Nokia 5530 in Nokia store in Romania at 12 Agust. But my happy time ended very soon after i buy it. First problem when i press the on button the phone starts but in a few sec. lots a lines appear on screen and restarts automat. I tryed to re-ryte the softwere but nothing hapents. It got more badly after the update i tryed almost 15 min to start my phone. Soo after 5 days my 25o euros nokia phone is broke. I don;t want to go to service because i dont what my new phone to stay in service 14 days instade of my pocket. I just wait an Update soft.

Considering it is a xpressMUSIC(!), I´m missing:

- option to add directory as a new playlist

- option to adjust volume with side music buttons while the keyboard is locked

- additionaly, when holding the button for longer time, it would be nice to switch to the next track

does it won't start at all, or is it happens time to time? try to turn off basestation broadcasting messages. this feature usually leads s60v5 to often crashes.

Hy and thanks. But nothing works when i turn on the phone the same lines appeares. I will wait an firmware. This hapens when u buy a 'low-cost' phone. They sayed it will be a cheep phone but at exactly 275EUR [price at Nokia Store in Romania] it's  very hi price if u compare it with 5800 is a bad deal.Nokia 5800 cost me 320EUR.Hello from Romania the place where i asked Nokia Suport Center when will be availabale Nokia 5530 and they told me they dont't know and after 3 days it was on sale.

This has nothing to do with "low-cost" phones.

1. 5530 is a mid range

2. It's made not on a new platform. 5800 when out was a one single gigantic bug..,

Remove you SIM card and turn it on without SIM card. It's should run with autonomous (offline) profile.

I think its not only a mid-range phone, coz the price doesn't tell that.

And compared the features to other mid-range one.

But unluckily, is missing.

Got no reboots yesterday after turning off BS broadcasting messages. But today the problem appeared again. Phone is loading, but soon as it loaded it's going to reboot. It would be interesting to hear Nokia officials on this theme. I was reading some forums - there are seems to be a lot of people with this problem. Is it hardware defect or will it be fixed as soon as possible by a new firmware? It's nearly impossible to use the phone right now.

regs  U didn't understand the irony from the 'low-cost' words. They sayed it will be a cheap phone. When Nokia anunced the phone they sayed it will be a cheap phone. They pull out from 5800 the: gps, 3g ,better camera and they put a smaller screen even from the package they removed the plastic case,the spare stylus and the plastic desk holder and Voila a cheap phone. If u compare it to 5800 and his package results an very expensive phone.And if u take a look is a phone with a lot of bugs. I DON'T WANT TO BE VERY CITICALLY BUT THIS TIME NOKIA REALY IRRITATED ME.

Firstly, bought this phone last week and I love it. In my opinion, it's much better than the 5800 if you don't need 3g or GPS. 

I have a curious problem though - I set up an email account which appears on the homepage, but since I woke up this morning, the email entry on the homepage has disappeared - there is just blank bar (slightly darker than the background). The bar can be pressed and highlighted for as long as you press it, but it doesn't do anything. 

Anyone else have this problem?

Oh hey! finally someone has the same problem as me

Yeah I also have this, I have used it for a couple of days and it was fine but then it just randomly happened one day when I unlocked my phone the email bar disappeared. The bar is still there but its just a shaded box, you can click it but nothing happens to it.

It's some consolation I suppose that someone else has it, I just wish I could fix it. 

cero10, I have asked around before, but by any chance so you know if it is possible to view calendar entries on the homescreen (like the 5800)?

I think i'm gonna replace my unit tomorrow. It's 14th day since I bought it. We can replace or refund it within 14th days per law with no questions.
