Evening folks, I have just recently bought a Nokia 5530 and I'm very pleased with it. Now having registered on Ovi I notice that the 5530 is not listed in the Applications section, although I have downloaded a couple of apps under the 5800 category (and they work).

Do Nokia plan to release apps specifically for the 5530?

It's simply that when a new model comes out, there is often a delay getting it added into some of the online services.

Also, the apps on Ovi Store are mainly developed by third parties, who may have not confirmed compatibility with this model yet.

the 5530 is basically a 5800 without 3G and gps. any app for the 5800 will work on the 5530. also loads of S60 9.3 (non touch screen apps work just fine) I installed an app called Call Filter that was last updated in 2007 and it worked 100% with full touch controls.
