Nokia 5500 weak signal

Hello,

I just purchased a Nokia 5500 for my wife. The signal strength bars jump up in down and are not very consistent. She also has no reception as soon as she steps into a building. Her other phone has signal and they are both using the same provider. My questions is simple, should I return the phone for a replacement or a refund. I'm not sure if this is something that this 5500 is prone to, or could it be just a faulty headset.

Also, if anyone knows how to increase the signal strength, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Andy

as mentioned, signal bars can be jumpy, however some nokia have been known to still make/receive calls even if the signals bars are 1 or even if nothing shows at all, but bottom line is if you are not happy with it, just get a replacement...

Re: Nokia 5500 weak signal

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm going to ask for a replacement, if it does the same thing, then I'll change models.

Any recommendations for a semi rugged unit like the 5500?

Also, there is no way to increase the signal strength on the phone?
