So.....Almost a year later the official symbian skype client is released and I must say I am very impressed with it so far, Skype calls over WIFI and 3G are supported as well as all the other skype options.

Such a shame its been so late as Im now in the process of riding myself of the N97 for the N900 as the browser is so slow these days and seems to get worse with each firmware update, plus the flash on the camera is awful.

Agreed, the only problem I've found is an echo for the other party when using the loudspeaker, it's also not the properly integrated client that Nokia marketed (I believe the N900 does have this proper integration).

As for the browser, have you tried some of the other options like Opera Mobile and Skyfire? They're actually pretty good but unfortunately you are still unable to set them as the default browser and as a result end up having to use the sub par inbuilt one to follow links from emails and other apps.
