I think the ability to update firmware makes mobile phone companies rush products to market, thinking that whatever problems there are can be fixed later. Not only is that a slap in my face because you are selling me an incomplete/unfinished product, but oftentimes the bugs are never quashed in future updates.
Equally frustrating is that I have yet to own a phone that would stop treating me like a child and allow me to make a 1:1 backup so that I do not have to spends a day restoring everything the way it was.
