The Navigation Edition differs slightly in appearance and sales package contents. The actual phone performs the same as the standard 5800.
Visible difference:
Slightly different casing (5800nav has chrome finish on front, no colour bar on the side).
Different theme on the phone.
5800 Nav Box contents:
Mini DVD
Standard 5800 box contents:
Mini DVD
Note: In some countries you do not get the case, stand, extra stylus or TV out. Check with local retailers for details.

I think both are same now. (Except the phone color, theme and car charger)
Both phones has the same hardware and software.
Nokia announced that maps and lifetime navigation is free and you can get any voice you want and maps for all around the world for free. (if you get the latest phone software update)
Navigation edition was different because it provided free lifetime navigation, car charger and car holder in contrast to 5800 XpressMusic. However new purchases of XpressMusic also gets the same except the car charger. (I'm not sure).
So, except the car charger, phone's color and theme, both phones are same. Oh yeah, XpressMusic is a little cheaper in some countries.

Do you know if the no TV out (no case, case, extra stylus either) in some countries only applied to the standard edition? That is, does the nav edition come with TV out in all countries? I'm in the U.S. and my 5800 does not have TV out.
