As normal use of the N97 mini mean frequent removing of the battery, I was unpleasently suprised that this  did cause application icons removed from the Applications folder.

As I am sure I installed the application on Mass Memory I am confused that there is no Program Files folder to have the applications.

Where do I locate installed applications and how do I restore the icon?

hi jimmy, well if the battery does not fall out by it self (the metal battery cover is not designed very well) the N97 mini shuts down by itself or is unresponsive where I was recommended by nokia support to remove the battery.

Anyway, Applications disappear (Opera, DeviceInfo, Night stand) although they still appear in the Installed apps list, from the Applications folder and also from the home screen and are replaced by random other applications.

theking2, the application icons normally disappear if the memory card did not register when the phone boots up.

Do you see the memory card listed when you go to 'File Manager'? If not, put the phone in 'Remove memory card' mode, remove the card and put it back in.

Thanks, sahil_7, until now I always installed on "Mass memory" since it cannot be physically removed. What I didn't realize is that it is de facto removed when connecting a USB cable (odd). I refrain now from using the "Mass memory" and the SD card for anything but photo's and music.

The missing applications were installed on "Mass memory".
