Hi,

I made a factory setting and I delete the MMS and now when I try to sync nothings happens? Any idea how can I re-synch my n97 with my PC??

update your phone with nokia software updater. but before doing so, you must have a backup of your phone's data ok. any thing else, we are there to assist you.

Ok, I update my phone and I'm trying to Sync with OVI.com. I have notice that the setting are:

sync profile name is (ovi.com)

server ver: 1.2

Server id : Pc suite

data bearer: bluetooth(I think that here is my proble, when I try to edit, it tells me read ONLY)

host ADDR: PC suite

I'm still not able to syn

you have to have ovi send you a text message with settings, save that message. then go to connectivity under settings - sync i believe is there and select ovi and not pc suite. pc suite will connect via bluetooth. ovi won't. hence you need those setting send you to via textmsg.

I got the sms and I saved it like it said. and I when to connectivity and I tried to to change the setting and it is still not letting me change. I have 5 pages of contact that I typed in ovi.com and I don't want to type them agani manually on my phone .

Every time I trid to change the setting it tells me read only. I have done this today 2 already and nothing.

ok in options did you try to select ovi under - change active profile? try that

I have ovi.com under sync profile name. the proplem is under (server ID) pc suite = that don't let me change.

under (date bearer) bluetooth = that don't let me change.

and under (host address)pc suite= that don't let me change

So, that is why i'm here, looking for another way to be able to log in. I got wlan and flat date packet...so i'm ok with any connection.

hmmm i hear you but when i change the active profile in sync menu under options it changes for me automatically from bluetooth for pc suite to internet 

on the top right when you switch the active profile it tells you ovi suite/data bearer: internet (in my case as i have it set to net and not wifi)

that is why it is so strange that its happening this way in your case.

BUT... when I go to my is active profile it says ovi.com/data bearer:bluetooth.... and that is were i'm getting mad. does your says ovi.vom or just ovi?

i have no idea what your stuff is about. i would remove all ovi stuff reinstall it and have hte settings set to me again

Radical, thanks....I did that twice today and I will try it tomorrow.

My question to you now is...Is there away to export my contacts from ovi to pc suite? because if the answe is yes , then my problems can be solve? if NOT, then I will treturn my n97!! easy as that....I have spend 2 days on this problem.

hmm i think that you might be able to connect your phone via  ovi suite through usb option and sync your contacts in that way. for contacts and messages also consider those options until ovi figures itself out and actually becomes stable and usable.

consider these options but try syncing ovi via usb to your phone first.

Radical, thank you...I tried it this morning again....I logged in to ovi.com from my phone and I was able to SYNC my phone after 2 days.

why and how, I don't know. I say it like this cause yesterday I did the same and was send and SMS and typed in the code and nothing happened. BUT today it worked. so we are done here

I syced all my contacts to Ovi from my N97 when i first got it. Yesterday i managed to delete all my contacts. No biigy i thought as i could just sync with ovi and get them back. So i go to sync on my phone press sync. But rather than download all the contacts from ovi, it uploads the empty phonebook from my phone to ovi and wipes them all from ovi. Luckily i had my numbers backed up on another sim card so have recovered them. But in future how do i download my stored contacts from the ovi site to my handset? The help pages on ovi dont mention it.

hey i am just glad it worked out for you
