this is what the said... but this kind of a problem will not be fixed by a hard reset... there is something wrong with the phone.

ive just thought of something... recently ive noticed that some of my music did not show on the music player (both the build in 1 and a 3rd party music player). "accidently" ive found out that this was because the missing files were in WAV format (and not MP3 like the rest of my music) which apperantly the phone does not support... could it be that the phone keeps crashing because it has some files which it doesnt recognize and cant read and its driving it crazy??? it seems unlikly to me...
any ideas?

Well, the n97 is a touchy device which seems to have a lot of akward issues. If the files are in the musicfolder and you use your musicplayer or trie to accsess the files in some way, it may cause troubles...But when I change the language to english on my n97 (which contains nothing that should trouble the device), it still freezes, reboots etc.
But things that are not made for the n97, should not be in it's memory![]()
What 3rd party musicplayer are u using? It could be some of your apps rather than the files...

i have the same problem
i'll try to delete all the 3rd party music and inform u

i dont think the problem is tose files. i deleted my music library file which was curropted according to some guide i found here. and now ALL my music works. so i gess maybe the phone does support WAV files...
right now i dont have the 3rd party music player installed. i have a couple of apps which i did not download from ovi such as themes, a couple of games, BrightLight and Midomi Trial

I was wondering, if you could check mass memory on PC for corruptions when you connect via mass storage mode. I understand you already checked the memory card?
09-Feb-2010 09:33 AM
how to check the mass memory
do u mean write click then check volum errors scan?
09-Feb-2010 09:39 AM
i dont use a memory card.
i know that my music folder file thing was curropt. but i deleted that.
im not sure what you mean by checking mass memory for errors...

Yes the right click and check volume errors scan. I dont exactly have an n97, I have a 5800 (same OS anyway, just different modding). This fixed certain errors for me.

ill do that right now and see if theres anything...
