Dear all,

Recently I have some problems using Ovi suite to copy movies onto my N97.

I am using SW version 2.2.0.245.

The file starts to copy onto the device but halfway in the process it suddenly stops copying and remains at that status.

Can anyone give me a suggestion as to how to address this issue? It is becoming pretty frustrating now.

1st suggestion :- Uninstall ovi suite. Restart computer and run nokia pc cleaner to get rid of ovi completely. Ovi is a nonsense. Download the latest version of PC suit from nokia web site and install it. PC suite is way more reliable that this ovi nonsense. Try copying your files again.
2nd suggestion : Take the first suggestion.

Dear Obi,

Unfortunately your suggestion did not work. Seems like PC Suite does not have the required codecs to transfer the avi files.

ok, lets try this.
step 1> download ipod video converter from http://www.ipod-video-converter.org/
step 2> convert your avi files to mp4 using the application mentioned in step 1, save the converted .mp4 file on your computers desktop
step 3> Open my computer, look for 'nokia phone browser' (make sure phone is connected using nokia pc suite 7.x and USB connection type selected in phone is 'pc suite'), open mass memory (or memory card, depending on where you want to save the video), browse to the video folder,copy the .mp4 from desktop and paste it here.
Step 4>disconnect USB and play the video from your phone.

The simplest, quickest way to transfer media to the phone is to simply drag and drop mp3 files or MP4 video (convert before transfer) . Create a file on E for each (music and video) and drag directly from computer to E whilst phone is connected in mass storage mode, just remember to set your message storage back to E mass memory as it will revert to C after being connected in mass storage !!

That's all there is to it !
