Hi there,

I have the last version of PC Suite (7.1.30.9) installed on my PC (Windows XP SP3). When I connect my N97, it first gives me this message:

"The pc suite support installed on your phone must be updated to support new features"

I went to "help" and clicked on "Reinstall PC Suite support". It asked me a confirmation, which I did, but then nothing happened! 

Now the option "Reinstall PC Suite support" is not available on PC Suite anymore and the biggest issue I have is that the application "Synchronise" does not work (it was not working before)!

What can I do?

Pc suite is not very stable program. I have have had and still am having also problems with it.

Find pc suite cleaner from Nokia site and run that. And then install pc suite again. hope this helps.

That's a fairly wide-spread issue.  To fix it on my system, I downloaded and installed the beta of the new Ovi Suite 2.0 from betalabs.nokia.com and it fixed most of my problems.

Go to Application manager in your mobile and uninstall this application from your mobile. Before that backup your all important data.

Now restart your mobile and try again to Reinstall PC Suite support.

If this 2 application not shown in Application manager and or you cannot Reinstall PC Suite support after uninstallation then you need to do soft format your mobile.

For that, type this code as dialing a number *#7370# (default security code is 12345) when mobile start after format then connect it with your PC and try again to Reinstall PC Suite support. After installation, restore all your backup.

post007, please do not recommend unnecessary resets when you do not understand the issue being discussed.

What applies to the N82 doesn't always apply to newer models.

For the moment I would take the advice offered matt_t above. 

Personally I did get the issue but the second time I tried it after a reboot it just worked.

I forgot to mention that it took 2 attempts for me to install PS Suite support software on my N97.  The first time I attempted it, nothing seemed to happen.  I tried it again and after a few moments I was informed PC Suite Support was up-to-date on the N97.  I think maybe it can be really slow on your first attempt.

This was on my first handset that went wrong.  When I exchanged it for a replacement, I had already installed Ovi Suite 2.0 and it updated the PC Suite software without fuss and then installed the new 11.x firmware.

Thank you hape_n95, this was the solution. I still have some bugs with my N97 (it's a shame for Nokia) but this issue is solved.

My code is 0588056 And I can't update even to v11. Is it normal? When will I be able to download it?

If you have tried with PC-suite to load a new firmware with out luck,I guess your phone is branded (locked) by tel. operator.

Then the only change is to wait until they publish it. May take a while.
