A couple days ago my N97 lost all text messages... ***bleep***, they were gone. So were emails and settings.

I looked around the Private/1000484b/Mail2 folder, and there are a lot files and subfolders there. I opened some files with a text viewer, and they look like the missing text messages. Although they were not in pure text format. But they're just not visible in the phone itself.

Is it possible to restore them to the phone, since they appear to be there?

What if I delete the Index file? Would the phone re-index all messages, or would I simply lose all the new messages? Its timestamp seems to be around the time I lost the messages...

Well, DUH, for some reason the message memory setting had changed, and I was using C: instead of E:... Changed it back, and there they were. Now if I could figure out how to merge the two sets of messages into one....

Hey, on N97 it will always change back to C: memory, it's sad...
