I would like to know whether 1 the n97 can have skyp voip on it and is only skyp to skype calls or if like in my case I actually have a skype number and any one in the world can call that number on  there land lines have it ring to my computer.

will have the same functionalty on my skpye mobile account, and can I use my skype mobile account to make calls from my skype number to other non skype numbers there by bypassing my cell phone carrier.

and this can be done through the wifi feature.

You can make skype to skype or skype to phone call on your N97 by using either the Skype or Fring applications. Both work with wifi and can utilise your existing akype accounts. Both are available for download for free from ovi.com.

My personal preference is Fring because it also supports video calls as well as other networks.
