It sound like he's had a 3rd party theme effect installed. This requires hacking your phone.

Not something I'd recommend. I had one of these theme effects installed on my N97 and yes it looked great.

Until I noticed certain apps no longer worked and the phone became unstable.

Through trial and error I traced the problems back to the theme effect I'd installed.

I went back to no theme effects, not even the default nokia one and had no more issues

Re: N97 Useful Tip

My Apologies. I misread the question.

I have seen 3rd party theme effects that Rotates the screen between menus, I thought this was the effect you were referring to. This is the one that requires your phone to be hacked

Re: N97 Useful Tip

somethign new i just noticed, when writing a message with the qwerty keyboard, if prediction is activated, you can press the up or down arrow and it will pop up a scrollable list of all possible words you are writing.. handy for correcting typos.

most will probly know that feature exists, but i'm sure a few won't

Re: N97 Useful Tip

However....

If REPLYING (with predictive text) to an e-mail (and you have a "signature line" at the bottom of your mail), when using the virtual keyboard, you may note that whenever the "space" bar is pressed ( Zero button ), instead of causing a space, it causes a line feed :-(

The only way round this is to type a word, hit the ">" button, and THE hit the space bar.

Anyone else have this problem?? Hopefully it will be corrected in v20 s/w (not yet available for UK Voda branded handset)

PS If there is NO "signature file", then hitting the virtual space bar ( zero key ) then it does as it should and causes a space as opposed to a (wrongly) line feed.

Cheers

Re: N97 Useful Tip

We probably all know that pressing and holding the Contacts shortcut will activate the voice prompt to open applications or dial contacts but I have just noticed that holding the Green button will do the same thing.
