The full list of fixes has been posted on many websites and can be found with a google search.
It cannot be posted here as it's against the rules to post leaked information.
The "official" changes are in the news section here:

generally speaking firmware releases would address the following in the following order.
1 big fixes
2 usability improvements as in subtle changes to address design faults
3 functionality improvements
as this is the first update and there are certainly bugs. then it would only be a stage on update.

Thanks guys. I still didn't get a list at that link, or even the N97 link on that page. Additionally, the N97 software update availability on the Nokia page is still showing the V10 firmware as being the latest available for my UK phone, so it's out of date.
I wouldn't know of the release of the UK Version 11 at all, if I hadn't opened Ovi Suite earlier, and it automatically checked for updates.
During the update, it asked if I wanted to see what the update was going to fix, but the wen page it opened just hung.
So why would this info be a leak? It's out there in public from Nokia.
I'm confused.

On the link I posted it gives you official news, from nokia, about what is fixed in an update. If you cannot see that page I suggest you try another web browser. The news about the N97 is the second story on that list (you may have to click on "expand all entries" ). That information is brief and non-technical.
A full detailed list of changes (known as a changelog) is confidential information and nokia do not allow that to be posted here. Often the information leaks out and other sites post it, that is why I suggested a google search.
Is that a simple enough explanation?

I updated my N97 this morning and it is definitely a lot more responsive. I have a UK unbranded handset (0585162) so I know it updates that model number.
Make sure you're using NSU and not checking for firmware on the handset as nothing showed through FOTA, but v11.x was available in NSU.

i have a black N97 prod code 0585162 and ovi suite tells me that an update is available but when i run software updater it tells me that V10 is the latest firmware? Any ideas as i thought that this product code could be updated?

@ Ricey
Did Ovi Suite specifically mention a firmware update or just a software update. The reason I ask is when I ran Ovi Suite this evening, it informed me a software update was available but it turned out to be a new version of Nokia Music.

psychomania.
Your reply was unhelpful and patronising. If you had read my second post properly you would have seen that I did indeed reach that page, and also followed the N97 link there. I didn't need irrelevant, patronising rubbish about using a different browser. Nor did I ask for, or need, a "Simple" explanation. An informative one would have been useful enough.
Part of your reply WAS helpful, to the extent that it told me that the answer to my question was to be found elsewhere. So that at least was accurate, if not of any use.
I did find the "changelog" you mentioned in another forum, and to that person I am grateful.
You still haven't aswered the question of "Why" Nokia would regard this as confidential information.
Come to think of it, please don't bother. You'll only ask for Kudos. If only there were an icon for Patronising.

Ran the Nokia software updater and it said i was up to date, being V10.
have played with the phone tonight again and managed to fall foul of the boingo problem and restored settigns from lastnights backup luckily.
checked the nokia softwareupdater by accident and it said V11 was available.

Oh my *BLEEP* *BLEEP*. There is a v11 update for the UK unbranded black N97 (0585162) but not the unbranded white (0587240). Argh. I am SO mad at Nokia..
Nearly two weeks Nokia.. Now, who's going to suggest it is a network holding up this release? I power cycled my phone today and received 4 text messages that failed to arrive over the weekend.. even though I used the phone all weekend seemingly without problems.

Yes it popped up in the corner saying a software upgrade is available for your phone click this button to update, also when i go into my phone and go to SW update it states a phone software update is available but wont let update on it, when i select it it says that update via pc. Really miffed now waited 2 weeks for this and now i cant even update.

WARNING ....... DO NOT UPDATE ITS JUST BRICKED MY PHONE . . . .
MMMMMMMMM No problems here. My product code is 0585162 but must say I am yet to see any improvements.

No problems with update (0585162), didn't even need to restore back-up.
First observations, snappier touch interface (although this may be an illusion down to the now bannished screen lock/light problem). As noted no problems with unlocking/screen light.
Phone memory went from 14.8 MB to 14.5 MB.
Only housekeeping required was to restore e-mail widget to home screen.

Update went fine on my N97 yesterday. Didn't have to restore anything to my home screen and the phone is definitely more responsive.
No one else has mentioned bricking their handset so I think your suggestion was somewhat premature.

Has everyone that has been able to update to the new firmware had an unbranded phone? Or is there someone out there that has been able to update with a branded one? if so what network were you on?
Reason I'm asking is my phone was originally from orange but using it with a 3uk sim and desperate to update to the new firmware. If it is available on one network but not the others could i get a pay as you go sime for that network update to latest firmware then put my 3uk sim back in?
