Hi everybody.

I have seen many ppl reporting  software problems but mine are are related to the hardware.

My N97 has a shaky screen, when I slide out the keyboard, hold the top right hand side of the screen and apply a little force forth and backward I can see the right handside of the screen moved by 2mm wide. While it doesn't affect the features, it's still annoying because everytime when you use the touchscreen it does shake abit and reminding you its defection. The left handside of the screen is stable and firm anyway.

Also the battery slot doesn't hold the battery firmly, if I open the battery cover and face it downward the battery will just drop out. Putting a small piece of paper in between the battery and the slot does solve the problem though. 

Some say these are merely minor issues but hei it shouldn't happen on a £500 Nokia flagship phone. 

Has anyone having the same problem? 

Lastly, it doesn't seem that I can search email on N97 like I do on E71, any advice?

i suggest you take it back to where you got it from as this is a defect with the phone as to pay 500 and it to already be broken you should either take it back to a nokia care point and they might be able to sort the problem out or take the phone back to whereyou brought it from ect hope it helps

Regarding the screen shaking - I think all N97s do this.  Look at the hinge on the back of the screen when it is open and notice how there are two attachment points on the left, but only one on the right.

It annoying because you are often pressing buttons on the right of the screen due to the design of the OS.  Just just need to press with a little less pressure, or use your finger behind the screen and your thumb to push it in a 'pinching' motion.

Shaky Screen.... I remember how everyone was talking about the loose slider on N95/N958gb. Same over again.

My N97 seems fine, but there is some minor unstability on the right side. The could have made two att.points at the right side too, but mine seems fine enough. Take it back to a service store and ask if there is a way to tighten it, or you might just return it.

I have also Loose Battery Slot.But today I have tried the secondary battery which is same model made by nokia which fits well to the battery slot I am now thinking that the problem is not the battery slot it is just the battery.

I have problem only with right side be loose and shakey - cca 2-3 mm

this is a manufacturing defect, like the camera scratching lens cover, the unlock slider. thankfully, i don't have either of these issues; but i DO i have the loose screen. not just the right side, either. i can press anywhere from the middle bottom of the screen to the far right side, and i hear a slight "clack" because of the amount of travel.

terrible. i've only had this phone for TWO DAYS!!!

guess what? i'm taking it back for a full refund. i love Nokia phones, the N97 is my third. i even love the "quaint" s60 operating system. but i can't stand paying so much money for hardware that has so many issues.

Hi!I just upload new version of firmware,and phone working brilliant!Plus if someone have problem with touch screen,just simly set calibration in settings-very easy-very helpfull.
