N97 Mike volume using bluetooth carkit

Hi all, I've got an N97 using Version 20 firmware, no real problems with it. I just bought a new car  with bluetooth telephone hands free option fitted as standard. the hands free sees and pairs with my phone no problem, and i can see the contact list on the screen in the car. It makes and receives calls BUT the problem is that callers tell me that my voice volume is very low - I can hear them loud and clear but they tell me my own voice is semi-muted. I've gone through all the settings on the car and can not see anything relevant, and nothing obvious on the N97 either. When i manually switch from handsfree to handset the mike volume returns to normal.

I tried a Sony ericson K800i on the car kit and it paired and worked fine, mike volume was normal and okay. I can only conclude that something in the N97 lowers the mike volume in some way as if the mute switch is half operating. Any settings i can fiddle with, or any other suggestions to make the N97 mike volume work with a bluetooth handsfree car kit please?

Re: N97 Mike volume using bluetooth carkit

I have in fact the opposite problem:

my car (2007 bmw with fitted in bluetooth handsfree kit) connects fine with the new 2700 nokia i bought, however people keep telling me that they can hear me too loud over the phone, while in the car the volume is ok. I didn't have this problem with my previous nokia model, or with the one my son has, 5310 Xpress Music. The problem is that i can change the volume settings in the car, only the speaker volume that is,and the phone, once connected, doesnt allow any change of volume settings.

it is just the microphone volume, so not the speaker volume, and that i don't have this problem with other nokia models...

Yours sincerely,

Nicolas
