Hello, considering N97 small C: Phone and that some applications installs only in C: Phone and consume a large amount of that memory, I would like to have a list of these applications. Allow me start by 2 appls.
1. QuickOffice AM Viewer version 6 - Upgrade from QuickOffice from v4 to v6 will eat 15 MB of C: Phone. That includes the download. Application Manager will indicate the consumption is only 4 MB but that is not correct.
If you remove QuickOffice AM version 6, it will still continue to eat 7MB of C: Phone.
QuickOffice AM is a great application, so you need to balance cost x benefit.
2. Nokia Maps 3.x - This 6 MB application will ask you what drive you want to install and you will say E: Mass, but it will be installed on C: Phone anyway, so be aware. Remove it seems to be ok - you get your memory back.
Are there any other nice applications that are large C: Phone memory eater out there ?
Thank you to share.

pkwakman: Just double check this:
Menu / Messaging / Options / Settings / Other / Memory in Use = E: Mass memory.
In my case, it's set to C: Phone memory and if I try to change it to E: Mass memory, I got the following error: Server is Busy !
But I have other application ( Lotus Notes ) using Messaging, so I think that is the reason why the server is busy.

grschinon : Ok, but if installed on E: Mass, I think Google will not harm C: Phone.
I wonder why someone will install it in C: Phone, unless by mistake.
And in this case, removal of Google Maps by Application Manager is clean/ok and will not leave "lost" files behind like QuickOffice.

Java Runtime Environment 2.0 eats 4mb on C: but will transfer a lot of system files to E: in the process.
Ovi Contacts uses 1mb on C:
Nokia Messaging and Maps when upgraded use a lot of C: as mentioned above.
Installing the new (and improved) YouTube app from Ovi will install it to E: and remove the nasty C: based app in the process.
Ovi Store update installs 3 files to C: which between them use almost 1mb too.

matt_t: thanks for the comment regard YouTube. Quick question: Why do you need JRE ? I did not install JRE and run some Java appls ( Opera Mini and Sametime ) ...
PC Suite phone-side also installs only in C: Phone despite it does not use much memory ( 300 KB only ).

matt_t: Just installed Nokia JRT 2.0 beta and my C: Phone memory dropped 6 MB ( Application Manager says it's a 4 MB application ). In my case I do not see files going to E: Mass, but I do not have many java applications, that by the way keep working as with original Nokia Java.
Removing Nokia JRT 2.0 beta allows to recover all 6 MB ( good ... they are learning )
Do not see reason to upgrade Java for now.
