Re: N97: How To Answer A Call With The Phone Locked.

you are a legend. I have been scratching my head over this issue. Its a shocker when I called Nokia and 3 mobile, they could not tell me this!! They acknowledged my phone as a defect and asked me to turn it in for a possible swap!! Thanks mate.. your post was great help.

Re: N97: How To Answer A Call With The Phone Locked.

I too had an issue with this during the first call I recieved, I tried to just press the answer button but it didn't work so I used the hardware lock on the side, problem solved, didn't miss a call.  On the second call I noticed the arrow shape and thought to myself "I am going to try swiping in the direction of the arrow, it's not like the phone will self destruct by trying"  and like magic I was sucessfuly able to answer the call.

Is this really that difficult to figure out? Could the word answer be any more obvious?  Even if you did think that you needed to swipe unlock first it would be easy to figure out.  On your first or 2nd call you swipe unlock and notice that it unlocks the phone and allows you to answer.  On your next call the voice inside your head (sometimes reffered to as your brain) should have told you to try swiping the answer button and see what happens.  It isn't rocket science, it is using your head and thinking for a change instead of being spoon fed everything that you need to know.

I can understand this being an issue for the first 2-3 calls but some posts in this thread claim that they missed every call until reading this thread. REALLY?  Sould someone like that even own a phone like this, chances are they are using it to make calls and recieve calls and not much else, there are plenly of lower cost phones out there that can do that.

Perhaps the people in this thread that had that much trouble figuring it out should have gotten an iPhone instead.  No, wait, that would be even worse because you cant even get into the phone the first time without actually reading the screen and swiping to unlock.

I guess the moral of the story is use your brain a little and don't be afraid to experiment with the phone.  If you missed your first 10 phone calls  because of this perhaps you should have called yourself as a test a few times from another phone and tried things like pressing answer, and when that didn't work try swiping to answer etc until you figured it out

@ Tech_Impaired - Thank you for posting to let us know how much smarter you are than the other posters in this thread.

The next time that you decide to post these sorts of comments why don't you take your own advice and listen to that voice inside your head reminding you that these forums are for users to provide other users with assistance, not to ridicule them.
