i'm sure many of you will know how to do this, but it's not completely obvious so i thought it would do no harm to mention it.

with the screen locked when you receive a call you get this screen.

what this is telling you is that if you swipe your finger right you'll answer the call, and if you swipe it left you will unlock the screen and be presented with further options such as reject, reject with sms etc.

was that too obvious or not?

You'd be surprised how many people don't even look at what appears on-screen, be it on phones, computers, PVRs or other devices.

I should think this is as obvious as it gets. However, when I answer a call like this after the phone has been locked for a while, it will hang. It answers the call, but then it doesn't respond to anything. I can't hang up, I can't do anything except turn the phone off.

Thanks - it wasn't obvious what to do especially coming from the non-touch N95.  I already hung up on a call but explained that i was technologically 'challenged'

bradbury you make think this is 'as obvious as it gets.' cleary plenty of people don't, including me.

i would have thought it was pretty obvious that being patronising was quite rude, but not everything is obvious to everyone.

It took me a while to actually interpret what was these arrows telling me.. I had couple missed calls because i thought the phone was locked forever but it works pretty cool slide right to answer left to unlock.. It is so annoying though the numbers to unlock the phone never rotates to landscape mode.. And the lock symbol never rotates.. Phone probably saves a little battery juice that way but it sure looks funny when the phone is cconnected to an external display to see the lock symbol like that..

i think we've all (apart from bradbury, obviuously) had a few missed calls trying to work it out.

it's a really nicely designed feature, it just seems to be a bit of a secret.

the best solutions for the same is that , go to application then to key lock where you get the options to DISABLE & then APPLY .

i am sure you wont be getting the same error again ....

some people lie about how obvious it was to them.

it maybe the same on the 5800 for example, but already knowing something is no the same as it being obvious.
