Please Help ....I have Updated mt N97 is its latest version and .....I had GuitAR hero in my N97 and loved it .....When I first bought my N97 it was not there but after  some time I was surprised to see it in Applications....Now I have resseted my phone and Guitar hero is not there anywhere ........I hope it does show up as last time but it is not coming...Please help....I really want that game.....And I believe it is in my N97 but its not there....Please help fast

right if you reset your phone the spore and guitar hero will go away i am not sure if there is even a way to get them back. i would call customer care and ask them. they are not a part of the firmwrae they get installed after the firmware so if you reformat, reset your phone you will lose this data.

Guitar Hero is preinstalled under strict licence terms from the supplier, it is a once-only factory installation as were the Spiderman film in N95 and Transformers in N96 - there isn't a way to regain it without legitimately acquiring a new copy from the supplier.

But mmc when I had this N97 for the very first time...I also didnt have that....But After a few days I was surprised to see it in apps.......And Now maybe its Also somewhere but I can retrieve it...Please help

I can't imagine how it would be suddenly there unless your had selected it in the Download! application, normally it is preinstalled in the phon (which was also the case with the 5800XM). Try the Download! app to see if it is now there, but aside from that I have no further inspiration.

my n97 never had the app installed when i got it but after a few days it was there under games.

There is a way to take back Guitar Rock Tour from the phone and save it on your PC.

Connect the phone with the USB Cable and choose "mass storage"

With the file explorer open the drive E:\ of your mobile (the letter could be another but it will be easy identify it), go to the folder private. use the search tool for find all files *.ja*, 2 of it will be the Guitar Rock Tour .jad and .jar. Now you can copy them on your PC and after install it on your phone!

That works as a preventative measure, but it doesn't help those who come to the forum having already lost the game without having made such a backup...

the procedure that I wrote above it is exactly what I made after an hard reset (*#7370#) and not before. The hard reset does not erase E:.

Just for info, I firmware upgrade v10 to v11 & didn;t loose 'Guitar Rock', the program did disappear after a rest (*#7370#) but successfully recovered with your info...

I did a hard format for my N97 by pressing "Shift + Space + Backspace"delete" buttons while turning on the phone. Although Guitar Rock was on "e:" before formatting, I totally lost it on the mobile. I did as mentioned here using Y-browser to search for "*.ja" files on all the drives but I couldn't find it whatsoever!!!

I totally agree that firmware update & soft, or hard formating do not affect "e:" data but to me this is what happened!!!

Some of you are confused, the apps are in mass memory and unless you reformat mass memory they won't go away. If you hard reset the phone using either (*#7370#) or "Shift + Space + Backspace", they games will dissappear because the installation settings are erased, but the actual files remain in the mass memory.

They are java games (.jar .jad) and are stored inside the "private" folder. As navio1973 explained, the ONLY way to get a copy of those files is connecting with the USB cable and choosing "Mass Storage". Using the PC explorer, look for the folder named "private" and perform a search for *.jar files. You will find not only Guitar Rock Tour, Brain Challenge and Spore but any other java program you have installed.

Just make a copy of all those jar/jad files somewhere safe and reinstall as with any other java program.
