It took me some time to decide between the iPhone and the N96.  I finally decided on the N96 believing that the only real differences between the two are the touch screen on the iPhone and the camera on the N96.

So, having seen adverts about watching movies on my N96, I am trying to get movies on to it!  This is where i've now hit a brick wall!

I want to download movies but don't know where from.  I want to do it legally and virus free!

I thought I might have been able to rip DVD's that I own and get them on to my phone but don't know how to do it!

Can I download iTunes films and get them onto my N96?

where to download movies legally is totally up to you

however to convert movies you can use:

1. super (just google "super" and its the 1st item, its free as well)

you'll want to change a few settings in super

MP4 video 320 x 240 4:3 aspect 30frames/sec

bitrate 768(works great for me)

the for stereo i choose only to change the audio bitrate

to 128 and then i convert

2. nokia internet video converter(free as well)

3. makayama video converter

4. wondershare video converter (pay)

Thanks for that.  The problem is I can't find anywhere legal that I know will work on the N96.

I did find Lovefilm but apparantly since February they no longer provide a download service!

Right, i've tried converting my DVD's and no luck at all!!

I can't find any itunes similar website where you can legally download films!  Why have Nokia completely missed out on this market when itunes are making a killing by doing the same!!!!!

I think I may be sending my N96 back and getting an iPhone!

hey there is "ANY VIDEO CONVERTER" which s a freeware thats available. Goto the PROFILE OPTION-->CUSTOMIZED MP4. Then move on to the VIDEO CODEC-->x264 

VIDEO SIZE-->640*480....

This prmomisingly works out!!!...plz do try...its awesome. N96 s awesome fer watchin vidz

I have tried playing videos downloaded from itunes on my N95 and it works fine. Best way to watch movies on your Nokia phone is to convert then straight from a DVD. The best converter that I have tried so far is Xilisoft.

I've tried all the converters on this page and many others.  The only one that worked is Xilisoft!!! WOOHOO!  I've only tried the trial version for now...its just a shame that i'm going to have to buy it to get it to rip my entire DVD!!

There are other converters that work besides Xilisoft. Actually I've used all the converters mentioned in this page at one point or another.

All work and all have drawbacks.
