N96 & BBC iPlayer issues

I have actually been pretty happy with my N96, having previously had an N95 which also worked pretty well. Just recently however, I have not been able to use the BBC iPlayer. Although I am able to enter the website via my home WLAN, when I select the programme I want to watch, a box appears that advises that a WIFI connection is required to allow the programme to play. When I attempt to connect via 'orange internet' or 'orange GPRS', the connection times-out. I am also having intermittent problems connecting to the internet other than via WLAN.

I think I must have inadvertently changed some connection settings. Can anyone help me put the settings back to the ones that worked initially?

While it didn't merit a separate query of its own, I am unable to access any programme guides for the 'mobile tv', and can therefore not access any digital television. Is this simply down to the fact that the internal aerial is not strong enough to detect a programme guide? If so, are there any external aerial options, or are signal strengths likely to improve in the short-term?

I can help you with your 1st query with regards to wifi settings.

Follow these instructions to make sure you have selected wifi as your default connection.

MENU > APPLICATIONS > MEDIA > REALPLAYER > OPTIONS > SETTINGS > STREAMING > NETWORK > DEFAULT ACCESS POINT

You should be able to choose your default access point which would be a know wifi connection.

Thanks for your very quick response. I ran through the process described, and my WLAN is noted as the Default Access Point already!!! Can't quite get my head round this?!

As for the second question...

If you are in the UK and trying to use the infamous TV Tuner, which is a selling point for the phone, i'm afraid you won't get it to work. The TV standard that the phone supports is not available in the UK at the moment and probably won't be for a few years....
