N97 is faster, bigger screen, high resolution screen, more storage space, newer operating system, much better battery life, better build quality and the camera has a lens cover.
N96 has a DVB-H built in tv antenna that can be used in a few countries, er thats about it apart from it being a bit cheaper now.
Forgot to mention that the N96 has n-gage but the N97 is getting it soon.

Extremely well, no major issues with it and I really like the phone so far. It's fast and smooth which is what I wanted. ![]()
My only issue is with nokia UK for not yet releasing the v11 firmware update. They need a big kick up the backside!

Good choice, the black one is very nice, personally I think the white one looks a bit cheap but i've never been a fan of white phones.
Don't wait for the firmware, just buy one now! you know you want to ![]()

Had a play with the N96 in the O2 shop and was appalled at the build quality yet again - far too wobbly.
The N97 is like a rock in comparison.
Also it has the best of both worlds - keys and a touch screen. Trying to browse the web etc without a touch screen is like having an arm cut off.
Agree though on the firmware front in the UK - god it needs it. Don't get me wrong, the standard one is ok but considering the new one sorts out most of the issues and is faster the longer Nokia UK make us wait the more irritated I get. Places like Outer Siberia got it before us and over a week later we're still waiting.....I mean come on.
Is it cos the UK never complain, we just put up with it? Nokia have to get their customer focus nailed with the likes of Apple eating into their market share at a rate of knots, and this is not how they should be going about it.

but N96 is costlier than N97 in INDIA.why?!!
say something about its CPU
N96 got dual while N97 has single.

There is no single better, there is just different
Personaly I am more than happy with my n96, now that the firmware upgrades have solved the innitial problems,
Its down to choice, which do you prefer and why, which best suits your needs

I had an N95 (GREAT phone), and have had my N97 for 8 months now. While the N95 is not an N96, close enough. After 8 months and 4 firmware updates, my N97 is barely OK. Even Nokia recently released a statement acknowledging it's major problems, claiming they're "fixed" now. Do some REAL research. This post will probably be removed if I go into anymore detail.
