Hello all
I have read so many divisive opinions on this subject. My take on it is that i get appalling usage from the standard battery in my N96; especially as i am not a power user. A typical days use would be 15mins of talk time 3-4 SMS and 10 mins of internet usage and I would be fortunate to squeeze 40 hours of stand by.
Yes; i've changed the battery yes; i've been given a new handset from my provider and nothing has changed. Now i find myself 2 months into a 2 year contract that i'm unable to free myself of; and a phone that has made me loose respect for the company who manufactured it.
In sheer frustration i had to do something that is wrong but felt it necessary after being caught in unfamilar part of London with a dead phone.I purchased a battery similar size but of a larger capacity and fit it into the phone.yes it is wrong and could be dangerous and the cover fits poorly; but the 20% increase in capacity; it has given my phone a new lease of life.It has easily doubled its usage time in my case.
So nokia sort it out eat some humble pie admit you got it wrong and manufacture a new back cover so it fits over the new battery.
