My Nokia N96 has been sent back for the third time from repair. It has had new software/firmware etc. but after I synchronised (600+ contacts and calendar) it it keeps warning C: memory is full. I have browsed the memory via the phone and PC Suite but can't find any files or folders there that are more than few kilobytes. Anyone out there with any ideas please?
Thanks

With that many contacts you may be comming close to an internal limit on the memory.
Would suggest backing up your user data then performing a hard reset type *#7370# which will reformat your c drive and clear out any nasties
Make sure your maps, messging, music and camera apps are set to use the e: mass memory
then restore your contacts / callendar,

the phone thinks something is sitting in its memory clogging it up
, check which memory your maps and messaging apps are using and if nessicary switch to the e drive

for messaging
Messaging -> Settings -> Other -> memory in use
for maps
maps -> options -> tools -> settings -> map -> memory in use

thanks - messaging was set to C: so changed that which then freed up a few k and then allowed maps to open. That used E: however so no need to change. Turned phone off and on and now 132kb free....
it's a mystery (to me). In the phone I have 1 image (std vodafone image), I small vodafone idle file named 23415, 1 small .tmp file and 1 small .txt file (nothing else)
If you have any more ideas I would be glad to receive them - thanks again

Looking at my C drive I have 33.8MB free of 82.5
so somethings filled you up
Have you recieved alot of data over bluetooth
How much detail does each of your 600 contacts have (do they all have images etc ??)

Thanks
from looking at my PC, contacts is just over 1MB and calendar 1.4MB. There are no pics in contacts - just plain text.
The only bluetooth activity since the phone came back has been synchronisation of those two elements with my PC
I'm going to try deleting both from the phone and seeing if memory jumps up to what it should be

deleting those had little effect (not surprising) - now have 320K!
Am losing the will to live!

Last shot is the full reset
1. Switch off the phone.
2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (the call answer button), * button, and '3' button.
3. While holding these buttons, hold the power button for a second to switch on the phone.
4. Release when the phone shows the nokia hands logo or shows other signs of life like the language selection screen.
It may take a few attempts and very flexible fingers.
This will completly reset the phone
Anything clogging up the c drive should be removed
Try it then check the status when the phone recovers

thanks once again
I did this reset and C: is back to normal (hooray!) so tried to connect to resync to see where (if) it goes wrong but now phone won't hold bluetooth connection with PC - it did before (says unable to create bluetooth connection even though I managed to pair them OK)
The phone is edging nearer to the bin so any more support will be very gratefully received!!!

Restart the phone
delete the pairing settings from the pc and start the connection from scratch

I sincerely thank you for your efforts in all of this - where do you find the patience and time??!!
I did as you suggest and when it started to pair it then says it needs a new driver so went to download the driver (couldn't do that on its own) so went to redownload PC Suite and it crashed...
Life's too short!
Thanks again
