N96 Bluetooth compatibility with my car

My N96 will pair with my car's VW factory fitted car kit but it will not transfer the phonebook from the phone to the car's memory.
Any ideas why?

Maybe you could try using this piece of software. It works well when using other bluetooth connections.

I tried this application and keep getting a Certificate Error on the phone, any clues as to why?
The downlaod came from Nokia's website.
