I have used light sandpaper on the battery and battery posts, but still it won't come on.  It died a couple of days ago, came on briefly with the system reset (*+3+green call+power) but then faded away and won't come back on.

I plug it into the charger and nothing happens.  What can I do?

Are you sure it isn't a power issue with the charger resulting in a flat battery? Try another charger if you have one.

I tried using my car charger all morning and still nothing.  I am about ready to give up on this thing, and just go buy another one on ebay.

I have tons of personal information on this phone.  If I can't get it started and "reset" it then I probably can't even sell it on ebay as a "broken" phone for concerns of somebody getting my personal information.

Before you give up, also try removing the battery and leaving it out for at least 5 minutes before restarting. What about trying a Nokia Care Point as well?
