I can't seem to be able to make video calls from my N95 - I select the option to make a video call instead of voice call, and nothing happens! I know that the people I have tried calling are able to accept video calls, and I have checked the manual.

I just can't seem to find out what I haven't done to set it up, if I need to, or why nothing is happening! I am paying for the video call service and it's annoying me that I can't use it!

does it show 3g when you make a video call and the second thing the person whom you are calling does have a 3g phone then only video call will be thru.

Yes it does show that, and my OH has the exact same phone on the same contract, as does my sister, and I can't seem to call either of them. It's just that nothing happens when I try to call them. It's as though the function just isn't there. Really frustrating.

No error message appears. The call just simply doesn't happen. It goes back to my contacts list (from where I am selecting the video call option).

can try formatting by phone by pressings keys *#7370# but note if you do this all your phone data will be formatted.it is like factory settings.let me know if this helps.

I'm not sure what formatting the data means - does this mean I will lose all the stuff saved on my phone?

Yes. Everything in the phone's memory will be wiped, but not that which is on your memory card.

Back up the stuff in your phone using PC Suite (or perform a backup to the memory card) first of all, then do the soft reset as described by navigator.

Make sure things work first, and if they do then restore your data.

If the soft reset didn't work you can always try the hard reset too:

1) Switch the phone off and make sure it's fully charged.

2) Press down and hold the green "call", "3" and "*" keys.

3) Switch the phone on with these 3 keys still pressed down.

4) Wait until the phone shows signs of life (Nokia "hands" logo or language selection screen) and only then release the 3 keys pressed down in step 2.
