Just noticed today that the screen goes black when sliding open or closed. Screen comes back on when slider reaches open or closed. Is this like the blank screen fault that affected so many N80s ? I'm very disgusted that I have to pay to fix my 16month old (expensive) N95 for an ongoing issue with Nokia sliders that they HAVE NOT fixed in their design. Very poor support Nokia.

No clues in your post of your whereabouts but warranty in EU zone is 24 months not 12 months.

NOKIA CARELINE if your phone is under warranty..

if not, then take it to some repair shop.

i believe there is some problem with the I.C of the slider mechanism.

I'm in Australia so for the identical product sold in EU we only get 12 months warranty. Beyond belief.

This is more than a random fault and should be handled likewise. Here I was hoping they solved the slide issue that bugged the N80 when they released the N95.

I guess that's what happens when Nokia pump out phones so quick they can't conduct proper testing.

Just bitterly disappointed.

Scott your grieviences are justified... but there is always a solution to a problem...even if this is a strange problem to be handled in an off the routine way, be it so... once again best of luck! not blame nokia for anything...nokia rules as always and nokia's productions have become very slow now :-( i wish they could make trendy phones like sony, sleek and stylish with new features.in some ways, nokia gets a little boring with no new features.. i dont feel any differnce between the nokia n95 8gb, n96 and n85(which i currently own)!

I have the same problem with my N81 8gb! This is the second time I'm experiencing this! My SP replaced my first handset with a brand new one, but now I'm getting the same problem! Now I'll need to return this handset too. I'm VERY disappointed!
