N95 only number but not contact name show when phone rings

Hi this problem has only just started happening on my N95.

I am on V11.0.026

When my phone rings only the caller's number displays.

Before the name used to display.

The Call log now only displays the number, I can see previous calls before the problem occured which have the name.

This now means I have to know everyones number to recognise who is calling me.

Is there anything in the settings which might have got changed?

I have recently upgraded to the above version, maybe this has done something?

If anyone has any ideas that would be really helpful.

this could be the obviuos answer or may be there is more to it
Delete the contact name in the phone then try again
ususally when this happens the contact name is in the phone MORE THAN ONCE
some times you have the surname and a 1st name ie 2 entries but the same number in this case the phone can not display a name
You may also have the name on the sim and the phone the earlier nokias could not display a name when this happened but the later ones are able to cope UNLESS the there is a conflict name spelt different on phone to sim again the phone can not cjhoose so displays none

Try deleting the offending name and get to call you again

or delete the name THEN key in the phone number and press dial see if the name appears which proves there was more than one entry

sorry If you backed up the phone before the update you may have all the names in twice Possibly
Nokia user / modder since Nokia Orange and Mobira user too before that

Your answer was perfect and totally sorted out my problem.

I sychronise my phone with my work Outlook and in there I have several numbers for each individual. I also have the some numbers under a different heading. E.g. my personal name and my landline and home and my landline i.e different names but the same number. So yes there were duplicated numbers. As soon as I deleted all entries and just left one now the name appears along with the number.

I knew that someone would know the answer.

Now I can work around this.
