Can anyone confirm this? According to the list on the Software Update web page, there's only one phone in the list that can do that... So I'm not too hopeful about the N95 lol

Just tried to do an update for my Nokia N95, my handset is on the 02 Network, it says i have the latest firmware!

i dont know why its so hard for some of you i updated in about 15 mins!
Ive seen 3 changes so far
When using t9 pressing 'down' on the joystick no longer gives options for different words
The wifi connectivity seems much more stable and lastly gps seems to connect quicker and addresses seem to be found now

I just entered my product code into the updater but it says that no update is available. My phone is sim free so how is it some owners have managed to update their n95's successfully?

Hi all
If you want to check if firmware is avilable for your N95, do the following

1.go to http://www.nokia.co.uk/A4226014
2.N95 is not on the list yet, select Nokia N80 or E61, download the software
3.start Nokia updater and it checks if update is avilable for your type of N95, example-N95 operator/unbranded
4.The reason its giving some people with unbranded no software update available is because its only on Euro 1 N95 at the moment, give it a week or two.

yup no more crashes so far when trying to retrieve services(vox flickr) and i dont know if its my position but gps now picks up indoors quicker than before (no more windowsill) but please bare in mind it could be that im getting 5-6 satellites

Updated as well, looks good so far

The unit seems snappier and the camera quality has improved.

As N95 was rolled out over several months in different markets, it would be strange if new firmware was available for every variant all at the same time!

Hi all... I'm posting from home via my N95.

Yes, GPS seems better now. Upon first start up, noticed that the signal bars were mostly full. Initial lock took a while. A couple of minutes. The fastest was about 10 seconds this morning when I did my grocery shopping at a hypermarket. When I went in, I exited the Maps application. When I came back out about an hour later, I got the lock in about 10 seconds.

Camera picture looks better but I'll have to wait till I see it on the PC as that gives a better evaluation.

The UI is definitely snappier.

I'm curious to know if this upgrade solved the whinning screen that quite a few were complaining about.

Mine still gives out that high pitched whining after the firmware update.

Its more of a CPU circuit interference thing rather than something that can be solved by firmware. Looks like we just need to get used to it

the high pitch sound has not vanished with the new software.
The GPS is slightly faster and more responsive.
The system is faster and the camera produces quite better pictures.
