N95 SLIDE FEATURE

RECEIVE A CALL = OPEN THE SLIDE

END A CALL = CLOSE THE SLIDE.... DUH!!! WHY DOESN'T THIS WORK???

IS THERE ANY SOFTWARE OUT THERE TO SOLVE THIS?

This doesn't happen because Nokia have disabled the sliders facility to terminate the call. I have been advised in the past that the N80 also did this when it was first released and it was not until a few firmware updates later that this ability was added. Perhaps Nokia diable this on new slider phones in case people report problems with the slide action.

Some of us who like you find this annoying are all hoping that a future firmware update will give us the option to make the slider action work in this fashion if we wish.

Re: N95 SLIDE FEATURE

I've been told by my dealer that I need to bring my phone in once a month for the next 3 or 4 months to ensure all firmware updates. So what you've told me makes sense.

Many thanks.

Re: N95 SLIDE FEATURE

There are not going to be new firmware updates released every month for your phone.

Also, you don't have to bring it in to anywhere, if you want such an update when available, if you use Nokia Software Updater to update it yourself:

P.S. I like the fact that the call doesn't end when I close the slide. This way I can close the slide and put the phone in my pocket and keep talking. It is not that hard to press the red end/hangup key when I want to end a call. And sometimes also the other party hangs up and then I don't need to do anything. :smileywink:

Re: N95 SLIDE FEATURE

I prefer it not to hang up when I close it. I often use it with my bluetooth headset... and the voice dialing is pants! This means I have to open the phone and dial the number - and can put it back in my pocket closed without hanging up!

I think an option would be a good idea though

Re: N95 SLIDE FEATURE

i personally find the slide very annoying. i overcame this by superglueing it the first day i got it. it works a charm. i never ring people anyway.

Re: N95 SLIDE FEATURE

in the phone there are 2 buttons

a green button the accept the call and a red button the end the call. no need to open/close the slide to do that

Re: N95 SLIDE FEATURE

I suppose everyone or rather most people want to have the option of choosing how the slider works; like in the 6280.
Ericssson EH 237, Ericsson EH 337, Ericsson GH 388, Siemens S25, Nokia 6210, Nokia 7250, Nokia 6230, Nokia 6280 & O2 Atom , Nokia N95, Nokia 5800 XpressMusic

Re: N95 SLIDE FEATURE

does anyone know how to force the phone only to accept call by pressing the green button but not sliding the phone up? I always accidentally cut someone off by I tried to slide and pickup the call....
