N95 8GB PROBLEMS

I recently bought a second hand N95 8gb off a very respectable looking person on Ebay (100% feedback). I have got a load of problems with it that I would be really gratefull for some help with.

1. I can't use the default code to reset factory settings.

2. When I go into tools there is no option for setting up the wlan

3. I can't get the it to join up with my computer via the usb cable, so I can't download any updates. (When I hook them up it charges and gives me 3 options - mass storage, webcam, or com port - if i choose mass storage it tells me USB. no storage for pc.)

Also I have tried putting in some of the codes I have found while researching the problem, some work, such as the one for getting the device details out, but some just sit there on the screen.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

Re: N95 8GB PROBLEMS

You should return the phone to the ebay seller and write negative comments.

on a second thought, to be confirmed whether this is a fake phone, which i feel it is, you should take it to the nokia care line nearest to you and see if this is for real or a fake phone usually made by certain companies as COPIES of the original phone.

very sorry to hear about such a thing...

Re: N95 8GB PROBLEMS

Jimmyireland is spot on, you definitely do not have a genuine Nokia phone.

If you paid with PayPal or if you paid by another method that uses your Visa or Mastercard, then you stand a good chance of being able to recover your money.

Re: N95 8GB PROBLEMS

You can do 3 finger flash for getting the codes to the normal ones.
You can do this by switching the phone on with the '3', '*' and green 'call' buttons pressed at the same time. But keep a backup.
