N95 4gb shuts itself off.

N95 4gb shuts itself off.

I have a weird problem, the solution is probably to bring my phone to a Nokia Tech.

But, When recharging my phone, it shuts down approx every 5 minutes. If I'm not turning the device on, it keeps
the same way around every 5 minutes.

When recharged, it turns itself off after between one and two hours.

Someone else had / seen this kind of problem?

I was trying to get a firmware update, but because of a problem described in another forum about NSU,
I can't get the newest firmware.

Right now I'm having firmware v 21.0.016

Re: N95 4gb shuts itself off.

If you have already tried updating and it didn´t work or wasn´t available you could still try a hard reset before you give it to a Nokia Care Point! :smileyhappy:

  1. Try a hard reset, which deletes all data on the phone and restores factory settings: *#7370#
  2. Help should be provided by a Nokia Care Point to add languages to your phone. There may be a small charge for this service, depending on country and warranty regulations.

Care points/service centers and repair info:

    UKEuropeAsia-PacificUSA
    CanadaMiddle East and Africa

Any other country: Click here, select your country, go to the support section, then select repair.
Good luck and let us know how this problem was solved! :smileyhappy:

Sorry It seems like the problem didn't get solved, even by upgrading or hard reset the device.

Re: N95 4gb shuts itself off.

If firmware update nor hard reset solve the problem, the only thing there is left to do is give the phone to a Nokia Care Point as I posted before...I hope the N95 is still on warranty so that the repair or exchange is free of charge! :smileyhappy:

Re: N95 4gb shuts itself off.

I have had the exact same problem with the 6650.  I have gone through 3 of these phones and they keep resetting.  I have restored the factory settings, and apparently a new phone does not correct the problem.  Any other ideas?

Re: N95 4gb shuts itself off.

I have the same issue with the 6650. AT&T has told me that this is a known issue with these phones and currently there is no fix for this - even a new phone will not solve the issue.

My phone is a MUST for my job and family emergency contact. Why would I want or need a phone that I never know when will stop working. If there is no fix for this, a new brand or type of phone should be issued.

Re: N95 4gb shuts itself off.

After getting 3 replacement Nokia 6650 phones from AT&T, I finally spoke with a manager and had a different brand of phone sent to me.  So far, so good.  I am really disappointed since I have been a loyal Nokia customer since 1994!

Re: N95 4gb shuts itself off.

I just got the replacement phone today. I hope for the best, but according to AT&T it will happen again. They told me to get a Go Phone while I was waiting on the replacement. Guess I'll have to carry two phones around which is not my idea of a solution, but the only way I can be assured of having it available.
