I was very annoyed to see that my new Nokia N91-1 would not run my TomTom 5.20 that I had for my N70, does anyone know when or even if this will be sorted by TomTom? I cannot beleive that 2 very large companies cannot talk to each other when changing specs on products, I was led to beleive that the N91-1 was the same operating system as the N70, to which I found out it was not. Any help in this matter would be great, apart from this little gripe I think the N91-1 id brill !
The N91 is based on the new S60 3rd Edition software platform.
Unfortunately there were a number of changes in the S60 3rd Edition and the underlying Symbian 9.1 operating system, that application developers (like TomTom) need to release new versions of their software for S60 3rd Edition based devices.
So, you will be able to use TomTom on your N91 again, when TomTom releases an update for S60 3rd Ed. devices. (Hopefully TomTom does not require you to buy it again in-full, if you already own it for an older phone.)
has anyone got tomtom on their n80 yet? if so can you tell me what version you got and how you got it on, i have been told that the n80 supports this but i'm having problems loading it on
If it doesn't work on N91, it wont work in N80.The only N series that still has 2nd generation of symbian os is the N70.I think u will have to wait for an update from Tom Tom
