I tried every single fix that someone mentioned, but the GPS just doesnt want to work w/o AGPS. Im now wondering if i can point this as warranity deffect so they can replace my phone or smth?

found this to show you, thats its true, the GPS Modul MUST be verry bad, because hier in this Video the change the Modul for many many N86 phones!!

Even i have the same problem with N86. The GPS doesnt work at all.

Can you please help us Nokia...spent so much over a phone and it doesn't work well even after updating firmwares.

My GPS is much faster with the Fix since the new Firmware update (21.006) !!

I can recomend the new one.

The update to the 21.006 firmware fixed the problem for me. Now I can get a lock in seconds even when inside.

hi im sadiq i also have N86 but its same problm in my GPS t it;s woking gud but wen i update new software it's not work

it says trying to get gps connection gps status is visualised by the indicator next to the satellite symbol

I confirm this issue.

Firmware: 30.009

also was on previous versions.

One of the solution listed, is hard reset, but it is not nice.

The other solution is to allow GPS contact with servers, not nice if you are in roaming. What happens:

without connection to internet, GPS is able to see sth like 3-4 satellites. After connecting, it starts to see like 7-9 satellites and instantly gets current position.

Any ideas how to solve that?

Go to Menu > Applications > Location > Positioning > Positioning methods - temporarily only enable "Integrated GPS" then go outside away from tall buildings for 20 -30 minutes required for device to get first positional fix.
