Another problem i face is with the settings!
Many times, whenever i open the settings, it crashes and exits automatically. I have to open it 3 4 times to be able to use it!

My N85 has successfully completed 1 month at the service center, managing to reach L3 or L4 levels and came back with the same "restarting problems".
I have asked for a replacement or my money back.
There is no more trust in a product, that was only 1 month old, and which cannot be serviced by the highest level sevice center
I am planning to go to the consumer court.....if I do not get my money back or a brand new "working" phone any one care to join me?
Best Regards
Ajith
Hi Ajith,
I believe at this point you should write into Nokia HQ of your country to detail all the issues and the history of events and to ask for a one-to-one exchange. Usually the Care Centre is outsourced, so they are quite powerless to do anything.
Nokia should be able to provide you with an exchange. I speak from experience as I just collected my new N85 replacement phone. My N85 was in the Nokia Care Centre for 2 weeks. I told them (Nokia HQ) in no uncertain terms that both the phone and service received were disappointing and asked them for another phone outright. However, I prior to pick-up, I insisted that they check the new phone for issues since my original phone was a brand new phone as well.
As of now.. it appears that this new phone is "issue-free".. and I am relieved that this painful ordeal of dealing with the Nokia Care Centre is over for now.
All the best with your phone!

I'm still testing out the phone as I type.. ran into a problem with my ngage cos i think there may be a conflict issue sincei restored my backup from the old N85 onto the replacement N85.. but managed to sort it out by installing it again. Phew!!
I'm trying to use the GPS but can't seem catch onto the satellites.
But.. It did take quite a long time the first time i logged on to GPS on my old N95 as well. Keeping my fingers crossed that
the GPS would work.. I just need to get to some open space to test it out...

Is it normal or a bug if after inserting memory card (8GB) we need to restart the phone in order to access programs that we install in memory card? It's stranged since my N95 not behave like that.
One more.... is N85 speed slower compared to N95-1 to access all it menu & browsing the internet?

guys, do u all feel that the battery level bar on right top not accurate? mine n85 in this situation:
-fully charged then;
-talk phone around 1 hour then;
-battery still in full bar; ( so in my mind i think the battery power is quite tahan also)
-the next day the battery level suddenly directly drop to only 1 bar and auto turn to power saving mode.
anyone facing this problem?or any solution to fix this?or is this my battery got problem?
FW.v11

@ urbana gps location alone can take even longer than 30 minutes. if you were to use gps with agps but that uses data as you know it, your location should lock within moments. i am glad that the ngage worked out after reinstall. yes sometimes you have to do it to make it all good again as the data has a tendency to corrupt itself and needs a clean/fresh start. anyway glad to hear that so far so good for you ![]()
@ those that questioned ....
no your n85 should not restart when you are trying to use a program from the memory card, something is not right and i am about to bet that your memory card is faulty. try the card in another phone, use n85 without the card or try another card and see how it behaves.
yes the battery indicator might be a bit innacurate read- bug needs to be fixed in the next firmware. no n85 is really fast so i can't believe that yours will be slower than n95 that is not very likely. also did you update your phones with the latest firmware v.11....?

Another issue i noticed -
The Now Playing menu in the carousal is stuck at a single song! Always displays that song only, even if i am playing any other song, or had played some other song last time..

Thanks for the feedbacks. FYI... I've just bought that phone for about 2 weeks and the Firmware is the latest ones. I need to hard reset all and see whether it improves or same as before.
Hope that N85 will beat my N95 in terms of performance even thou N85 don't have 3D accelerator.... ![]()

*#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default ( you will not lose any data)
Make sure you back up your data as you will lose all of it when you perform option 2 or 3 on this list.
*#7370# - Reformat your phone
This you perform as a last resort. Nothing else is working. Turn off your phone, hold the following buttons while pressing the power button. (the default code is 12345)
re-flash - hold the following buttons *, 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen.
If these codes are not working the only thing for you to do is contact your Nokia Care Center/Service.
here are the codes, try code number 2 first back up all your data first

Tinkered around with the connection settings for the GPS abit and then restarted the phone. It worked like a dream.
That and getting to a wide open space! I love my new N85!! I'm a born again Nokia fan. Now I'm twiddling my thumbs and waiting for the N97 launch! ![]()

Actually, that bothers me too. It happened to me twice this week. I was on a training and phone died unexpectedly. Today I was talking with my sister, phone died in the middle of conversation. And in both cases, I pretty sure that battery indicator was on full bar.

I had that problem, returned my phone and got one that does not have battery issues.... But this one's got the reboot problems while charging/using camera so I don't know which was better...
I thought Nokia would do something to satisfy their customers (like fix all these annoying bugs) but unfortunatly all I have is this topic to keep track of...

I'am thinking about selling that **bleep**.
I hate that it wobble so much, that the noise when vibrating is louder than alarm ringtone.
I hate it freezes when playing music (not mention overall sound quality).
I hate that battery indicator is not accurate and phone dies seconds after battery indicator was at full level.
I'll wait for next firmware update and when issues remain I'll sell that **bleep** phone. Really.
Nokia wake up.
