Hello to everyone and excuse for my english.
I have the new n 85 and i discovered a lots of bugs.
In firts the problem with the keypad that doesn' work during a call.
If i call the keypad turn off and not light again if i press a key during a call.
Do you have the same problem?
Haw i can to resolve this?

I have the same problem of the memory of the phone that after i remove a file doesn't return as before.

did you update your firmware? in my case the issue of the keypad was fixed with the firmware v11...

V11 didn't fix it for me.

I get around it for now by slightly closing then opening the slider. Annoying to have to do it, but it works for a short while.

I am also facing major problems with my new N85.

I am facing with constant restarting of the handset. The problems started withing 2 weeks of purchase. Initially it was happening only while using resource heavy apps like say the Mpas, or Video recording. Subsequently I have started facing problems of restart even while making a call or even while just browing through the contacts / menu.

I took the phone to Nokia Service center in Bangalore. They took the phone and gave it back after 1 hour saying everything is rectified. I tested infront of them and the phone restarted again. They again took it back, made me wait for 1 hour plus, and gave me the set. I tested and the phone restarted again. This happened one more time!!. I had spent close to 4 hours on a working day at the service center. Finally they took the phone and said they will send it to the "next level factory service". After 5 days they called me and said phone is ok. I went to collect the phone, and lo and behold - it restarted again. No one in the service center could give me any explanation. I went to the dealer who sold me the phone (Nokia Priority Dealer, CMH Road, Bangalore), and they said they cannot help - as it is a service issue.

The service center keeps giving the argument that "this is the first time we are seeing this issue".... this is as if they have been trained to parrot this.

I want to give this phone back. I have lost faith in Nokia, after being a loyal user for over 8 years :-(

I have problems with my phone rebooting as well. It reboots constantly as long as it's either charging or connected to pc/ovi suite.

I have now booked in an appt to send my phone in for the "next level" service as well..

Might I suggest that you ask the Nokia Care Centre in Bangalore to give you an email address to write to? It may help for you to write directly to the head office since most Care Centres have been outsourced.

I have been facing a new issue ever since i have upgraded to v11.

Many times, as soon as i open the Settings, it crashes and returns to the previous screen! Sometimes, i have to open the settings 3 times before i can use it.

Another issue i face sometimes is the keypad lighting. Many times i am playing games or typing something in pitch dark room, and still the keypad lights will not turn on. Infact, even the lights in the smaller pad with the menu key / delect key, even those lights won't light up! Even if i slide up and then slide down the phone again!

I have posted about this before but my N85 is getting me down now. This phone restarts so many times per day that I'm being forced to use an old 6110. Mostly it happens when I receive incoming calls but it can happen any time. Even when its sitting idling on my desk. It is entirely unusable. I dont want to take it back to Nokia because I know I'll not get it back for at least 2 weeks and I'm sure that all it needs is a firmware fix. But Nokia must come out with that firmware fix or I' and many others will be demanding our money back. I didnt say this much money to be a beta tester for Nokia. For the price I expect a finished product that can AT LEAST make calls.

That Nokia statement is absolute bull and makes me furious.

I bought my N85 direct from Nokia UK.
The d-panel was falling off on arrival. It was noticed before I even switched it on for the first time (within an hour of delivery).
I reported this to Nokia UK, and they apologised and gave me a complete refund.

Why has that not been substantiated?

Nokia UK would have been unable to resell that phone.

Why are Nokia ignore reports of N85s falling apart when they came from their OWN store?

Other end users whose N85s have lost their d-panel are Nokia advocates so important that Nokia sent them review models. So their reports (many with photos) are being ignored too right?

Nice to know where we stand anyway. We're dealing with a company that sticks its fingers in its ears and screams WAA WAA WAA instead of acknowledging problems so serious that loyal customers are abandoning the brand in droves.

Nice to know our £400 quid investments in your poorly made, disintegrating products mean so much to you Nokia. :/

I'm having exactly the same problem. I now have 52MB of 'Other files' on the file manager report. It seems to be like it's keeping every .sis you ever install on the phone memory, whether you still have it installed or not. It even seems to keep extra copies if you remove and reinstall.

I'm now down to 16MB free. The only way I can see of resolving this is to format the phone. Don't really want to do that. I hope a future fixed firmware will clean up after this.

May I suggest that you write in directly to Nokia HQ in your country as most Care Centres are outsourced. I think that's the only way to get some kind of satisfactory response.

I'm dropping off my phone for them to assess, they told me that it should take 5 working days and are going to loan in a spare phone in the mean time.

Yes! You can imagine my disgust when I received that email.

I wrote quite a few lengthy emails to them until the manager from the Nokia HQ called me to promise me a loan phone.

For some strange reason, the phone hanged nearly 10 times today! I have not installed anything new since yesterday. The same setup which was working fine till yesterday, hanged and got stuck nearly 10 times today. Had to pull out the battery to get it to work.
