N85 Handset Speaker

My N85 has worked perfectly for a month, but then, all of a sudden, I couldn't hear the person I was talking to. The speaker switches randomly from extremely low volume to normal to high. When I use a headset I works normally.
I know this seems like a hardware problem, but I thought I should check if anyone else has had this problem as well before I send it away for weeks...

Re: N85 Handset Speaker

I just bought my new N85, it's the same problem about about my phone too. When I calling there have the bruzz sound and voice sometime high, low and no voice too. However, it is no problem with using loud speaker or bluetooth. I guest it might as speaker problem, I will send to repair it tomorrow.

Re: N85 Handset Speaker

I have done the update from original version to version 11.047, however the result was worst then before. the bruzz sound was much more serious the before and easy to turn into no voice too. Thus, i just able to used loud speaker or bluetooth to operate my phone now.

Re: N85 Handset Speaker

i have the same problem with mine! got the new fw. what did you guys do? if i leave it at a service shop, will they replace it right away or do i have to wait forever untill they "fix" it??

i have used nokia sinse i can remember and this is by far the worst of them! it also seems like their build quality is getting worse (if u ask me) i mean the buttons on this phone is not good. the phone in general is not built solid! i spent a lot of money for this and the quality sux!!

Re: N85 Handset Speaker

When you say "took it to Nokia Care", do you mean just any place selling Nokia, or did you send it to Nokia HQ or something?
And are they obliged to give you a replacement?
I browsed the Nokia homepage to find a place, but all I got were shops selling phones...

Re: N85 Handset Speaker

This happened to two of mine, one of which was already repaired by Nokia for an unrelated defect.

I find it happens when your head or your hand is applying any sort of minute pressure to the speaker.
