i cant believe i am experiencing exactly the same issue as magicat above:

- the regular phone speaker keeps cutting out

- the plastic cover is cracked just below the navigation button

in my local phone care shop they said it would take approximately 2 weeks to find out what it was, and i should prepare to pay USD 120 out of my own pocket to fix it. its just stupid.

the phone is a few weeks old and i took good care of it. never dropped it.

i am frustrated with nokia and probably wont buy another nokia one after this experience with the N85.

if anybody on this board hears of a quick fix to this problem i'd be grateful.

ive had my 85 for 5 months or so. It reminds me too much of the **bleep** n95.

Hardware freakin is garbage!

SAME exact probs i had with the 95 im having with the 85.

SLIDER is junk

Ear spearker is blown. (went through 2 on n95)

I almost think the speaker is shot due to the crazy vibrate function and loose slider vibrating like crazy.

in the mean time i turned vibrate off and did the 'suck' trick on the speaker.
