'Lo there,
Yeah, I have to say I'm not satisfied with the power usage on this baby, at all. Sure it has 2 cpus (see specs), sure nice graphics, camera *with slash*, bt, wifi, etc .. But as soon as you start using these features, and god forbid you forget to say switch off your wifi scanning off or the like, the phone just starts turns into a power drain.
I find myself on many occasions reaching for the phone just to find that it has starved itself and turned off.
My previous phone was Nokia 9500, the ol communicator. Bulky, ugly brick, by nowdays standards, but I'm still impressed with its power management. That phone even now with old battery, still lasts for 3 days of good usage.
I'm not saying those phones are really comparable. N82 is obviously your whole multimedia system & more in a pocket.
But I find that features-to-power-usage/management on this phone forces me to always stay close to power sockets.

The issue seems to be that the N82 seems to repeatedly try to connect to certain access points even when WLAN is off!
Check the log: menu>tools>log and you can see if this is happening and with which AP.
You can then delete that AP in: menu>tools>settings>connections>access points.

I think the problem with the N82 attempting to connect to access points when WLAN is visibly switched off to the user, and without notifying the user at all is the problem. I checked my log and it had been doing the same thing. Still testing it as to whether deleting that access point will increase my battery life again.
Are there any applications that can improve on the built in logging capabilities to check this, and perhaps one that can give better read outs from the battery? As in capacity, manufacturer date, percentage remaining. Thanks.
