Almost any app that will work on the N95, N80, N73 and many others will work on the N82. If you are searching google search for N95 apps instead.
I have installed about 30 apps and have not had any trouble or slowdown.
Just make sure your apps come from a safe source.
You can find plenty of freeware and trial version at www.S60.com and www.nseries.com . www.getjar.com also has many apps but some of them are a bit rubbish.
