Without doing much at all (playing one mp3 tune, and looking for an unavailable 3G signal a couple of times), my N80 has drained its battery in about 7 hours. Only the "Standby" application is running, according to the phone.
Perhaps multiple hidden processes are draining the battery. Perhaps the fact that I haven't had working 3G for days now (which I blamed on the weather) has something to do with it. The phone is generally misbehaving now (browser not getting connection, etc), so I wouldn't be surprised if the battery drain has something to do with software problems.

The curious thing is that sometimes the battery will last 2days and other times it will lose bars really quick. I do pretty much the same with it each day and signal is quite steady. Weird isn't it.

I decided to put the phone near the WiFi access point this night to see if that would help. Number of bars were the same when going to bed and waking up, so there seemed to be a benefit there.
Also, today 3G started working again. I have now turned of "Show availability" for this phone (WLAN works fine anyway). Perhaps there is some condition where the phone sees the WLAN but the WLAN doesn't see the phone, and the phone keeps sending and sending its ID.. Something was going on, and it managed to interfere with 3G operation as well.
For the first time in days I managed to watch the news via 3G today. The phone is almost flat now (not charged since late yesterday evening), but has been on the "one bar" for a couple of hours now.
BTW, the low battery warning is silly as there isn't even time to look at the phone before the message is gone.
I installed Opera on SD, so will avoid running Opera and see if that helps too.

6-7h hours!!! New low record... It´s a shame a very good phone without battery. Is a toy for show... Well, if turn off 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, turn your N80 on a basic 2G phone!

Agreed. The actual use of this as a 3g phone is limited to a couple of hours without reducing the battery life a fair bit and compromising it's use as it's main function, a phone.
