I spoke to voda today they said they were doing an update for an internet problem and that if it was the same tomorrow they would replace it, so will see how it goes... cant see how its related though to be honest.

same problem here bro, you not alone
i am in a weak aeria and when i pick up the phone it loose the signal and any weak place i ve been it happens the same
often it drop few calls
the same was happening with the 5800 but was not drop calls easy
most users if they are in strong aeria will not note it but nokia has install the antenna down of the phone and that is why when we are in poor aeria it loose signal
i am afraid is not a lot to do about it
no case like iphone will help because actually when we hold the phone with any way we cover/hide more the antenna
maybe a software update for improve reception
i have post in that video with the same id 5 days ago and some users saying they dont have problem but needs to be in weak aeria to see it

I had this exact problem. And then last night I figured it out.
Go on Settings - connectivity - Network and change the network mode to dual mode or 3G....then your signal should be amazing. That is what happened to me.
Hope this works for everyone. ![]()

Thanks for the video, this is exactly my problem.
Indoor vs outdoor doesnt help
2G/3G our dual mode doesnt help
Also good signal doesnt help.

Nah, N8 doesn't have the sweet spot...it's not an apple's iphone 4. You might ' not be holding it right'.

Wow, these guys really do seem fake.
Obviously a phone isn't supposed to loose reception. When it happens, reboot your phone, if it still doesnt fix, then it is probably a hardware problem, so take it back for a warranty replacement.
This is common sense, why do people post forum threads like this?

I guess they had issues Akuma and they don't know how to fix them,so they are compelled to ask for fixes here. However,, the thread doesn't seem right...so i agree

so you are saying guys that the videos are fake?
if is fake i will upload one to see it with a uk network
so instead of "not hold the phone this way" we have now the " switch off 3g" or "we dont know to hold the phone" ??
are any instructions in the user guide how to hold the phone?
i have switched to gsm mode it does not made any difference
is been said we dont know to use the phone , ( i thourght symbian 3 was friendly user and easy to use like nokia advertised) then sure we dont know if is hardware or software or the battery or the antenna, ... i know is not perfect but by saying hardware it looks to me somewhere is problem so you agree in a way something is wrong
is a not complain by me but if i read post like (not any personal) "why people post forums threads like this" then it makes me feel sad
"if this kind of thread doesnt seems right", where we should post???at iphone forum? htc? motorola? complain board?
if we not good to fix the phone who will help us?? maybe ofcom ?
i thourght we are here to help each other
